Configuration Manager

Background
Our Central Government client is currently recruiting for a Configuration Manager to start work ASAP until the end of May 2013. It is highly desirable that you have SC clearance due to the nature of the work you will be required to undertake. This post is based in Lincoln and no travel is expected.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
1) Develop, document and implement a Configuration Management Strategy and Plan for the Programme Team to meet MAA regulatory requirements and ensure:
a. The platform baseline configuration is recorded and managed accordingly.
b. Adequate levels of configuration awareness and the potential implications of incorrect Configuration Control (CC) are available at all maintenance and Programme Team levels.
c. Establishment and maintenance of a process for controlling Design Documentation.
d. Definition, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of the effectiveness of the Configuration Management Process.
f. Definition, Management and Participation in and Evaluation of Configuration Audits.
g. Using best practice draw together configuration process across the Programme Team.
h. The management of Configuration issues on a day to day basis.

2) Develop, document and implement a Obsolescence Strategy and Plan to meet MAA regulatory requirements, operational expectations and current fleet out of service dates.
3) Investigate a Competency 'Fit for Purpose' model leading to the documentation and introduction of a training competency and LOAA Strategy, Policy and Plan.
