Computer Lab Technician

COMPUTER LAB TECHNICIAN HILLSBORO, OR 18 MONTH CONTRACT

Currently we re looking for a Lab Technician to assist in the following areas:

- Lab maintenance tasks such as Systems preparation and integration into the lab environment
- Responding to support requests and resolving associated issues
- Automating lab tasks using Scripting languages
- Setting up test environments, executing test plans, and reporting any defects or issues
- Documenting lab procedures and test environments

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- 1 year experience with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of Microsoft operating systems and installed applications such as Windows XP, 7, and Server 2008
- 1 year experience with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of Linux operating systems and installed applications such as Red Hat, SUSE, and Debian
- 1 year experience with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of client and server hardware platforms such as replacing defective components and building systems from scratch
- 1 year experience with network setup, integration, and troubleshooting such as configuring network settings in Windows/Linux, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and using standard software/hardware troubleshooting tools
- Ability and desire to learn new technologies
- Ability to work as part of a team or individually to accomplish assigned tasks
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work under deadlines
- Ability to document setup and configuration of lab and test environments
- Written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED:

- Any IT certifications would be helpful such as an A+ or Network+
- Any Scripting experience with bat, bash, VBscript, or PowerShell very helpful
- Any virtualization experience with VMware would be helpful
