Compliance Consultant - Banking

My client a global consultancy firm are keen to recruit an experienced Compliance consultant to work with their UK based Corporate Banking client. You will support the Compliance Advisory team to provide compliance advisory services to Product, with specific responsibility for the business queries, advisory and training (Compliance Advisory), working as part of a wider Compliance team including the Core Compliance function.

Key activities will include:

Management and Enforcement of Compliance Policies (20%)

- Develop, implement and maintain appropriate regulatory policies, taking into account changes to legislation and regulation

Business Partnership/Advisory (40%)

- Support the compliance product advisory team with various advisory and business related projects.
- Work closely with business teams on key projects and developments to continual improve their compliance practices
- Review of all new business/product approval.
- Coach and educate business senior management team on compliance related activity
- Build strong relationships with all key stakeholders
- Ensure that the compliance team are aware of the latest regulatory developments and major regulatory issues affecting the Bank and work with the relevant internal clients to resolve such risks

Internal Compliance Reporting (10%)

- Reporting of compliance issues and indicators to the Bank Head of Compliance

External & Regulatory Reporting, Liaison and Monitoring (10%)

- Ensure appropriate procedures in place to ensure compliance with all external regulatory reporting requirements relating to the Bank
- Support Head of Compliance in terms of managing senior level relationship within the FSA and other regulators
- Ensure identification of and delivery against externally mandated regulatory change programmes

It is expected that you will the following experience:

- Working knowledge of compliance & regulatory control processes and practices
- Experience in the UK banking industry, specifically corporate banking and associated compliance and regulatory control frameworks would be an advantage
- Ability to manage multiple issues at operational level
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence across a variety of businesses and functions
- Understanding of internal reporting and how to make it effective
- Numerate and analytical
