Community Safety Project Officer

This role for Community Safety Project Officer has been released on a temporary basis initially you will be part of a dynamic team which has responsibility for tackling high profile community safety issues and priorities. Current priorities include vulnerable victims and in particular those of hate crime, anti-social behavior and domestic abuse. You will be responsible for leading on work specifically linked to developing effective risk assessment and case management processes for these vulnerable victims; and will also have responsibility for supporting the embedding of the Troubled Families Initiative, ensuring a co-ordinated and joined up approach between the ASB and Community Safety Team and other services

You will be required to work with a wide range of agencies both internally and externally; and organisations including voluntary and community groups to address individual community safety priorities using a project based approach including researching and developing procedures for multi agency action ensuring these are deployed and implemented.

This is a highly rewarding role in terms of the contribution you will make towards the safeguarding of individuals and communities.

Main Duties:

* Assist in the development and implementation of a robust risk management process for high risk victims.
* Assist the ASBHate Crime; Anti-Social Behaviour
* You will demonstrate knowledge of legislation, procedures and policies and how these apply to community safety issues including but not limited to the Crime and Disorder Act 1998; Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006; Anti Social Behaviour Act 2003
* You will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Troubled Families Initiative and in particular the links with Anti-Social Behaviour and Community Safety.
* You will have well developed interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and engage successfully with community groups and partner organisations.

Desirable Criteria:

* You will be familiar with the PARTNERS problem solving methodology.
* You will have excellent IT skills
* You will have relevant specialist knowledge of a range of identified community safety priorities backed by evidence of practical experience of developing and implementing actions in response to these.
