Communications and Network Systems Engineer

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a COMMUNICATIONS AND NETWORK SYSTEMS ENGINEER to join our client in Mountain View, CA.

Client Overview:

Job Responsibilities:
- Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex life cycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
- Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
- Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
- Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
- Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
- Resolves cross-functional technical issues.
- Travel to Southern California at least once per month for 2-3 days.

Job Qualifications:
- Working knowledge with Cisco Routers, Switches, and Firewalls such as 3750X, 4500 ASRs (Routers), and ASAs (Firewalls).
- Working knowledge with layer 2 including spanning tree, VLANs, Ether channel protocols, stacking Switches, etc.
- Working knowledge with layer 3 protocols including IP, ICMP, OSPF, BGP, PIM, etc.
- Working Knowledge with network management client and server principles, SNMPv1/v2c/v3, MIBs, common network management and testing tools (eg Solarwinds, iReasoning, MIMIC)
- Working knowledge with Linux and Windows system administration and Scripting.
- Working knowledge of developing test procedures and verification.
