COMMUNICATION AND EVENT MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST - BRUSSELS, BELGIUM - ENGLISH SPEAKING

One of our blue chip clients is urgently looking for a Communication and Event Management Consultant.
JOB SUMMARY:
Communications and event management for the IT and Operations divisions.
Communications work involves spearheading all internal communications for the IT and Operations divisions, especially communication via the company Intranet, and the potential launching and managing of a newsletter. Responsibilities include building a communications roadmap, managing end-to-end the production of articles and newsletters, writing articles, and participating in client-wide communications oversight bodies.
Event planning work involves coordinating and organising various events for IT and Operations, especially events related to the annual convention, in particular activities related to a technology forum in this convention. Responsibilities include managing events end-to-end, and working with various senior persons in my client and outside my client to select speakers for the technology forum.
In addition, there may be ad hoc project management/coordination work in the general area of IT and Operations administration and oversight.
EDUCATION:
University degree in relevant field.
EXPERIENCE:
At least 1 year experience in communications, and 1 year in event management.
Project management/coordination is a plus.
PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE:
Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English, including creative writing skills in English
Very good knowledge of IT and Operations domains, especially technology trends, or actual substantive experience in one or more IT or Operations roles
Ability to work with people from different cultures and with senior persons, including directly with the CIO, often remotely
Ability to work in a Matrix environment and be able to influence people without direct authority
Ideally, some project management/coordination skills
