Commercial Services Manager (Schools)

Our local authority client is looking for an Interim Commercial Services Manager (Traded Services for Schools) to lead the development of a comprehensive, competitive and high quality traded service for schools, academies, and other educational establishments across the area. You will be working with and challenging the senior managers who deliver services to drive innovative service development and improvements in quality and to secure new business. You will manage the newly formed Commercial Support Unit, leading the development of and effective operating model including business systems, production of management information, compliance, and financial reporting, subscription models, contractual arrangements, customer relationship management systems, customer evaluation processes and business improvement processes. You will be responsible for the development of the strategic vision that will support the transformation of traded services, by helping them improve their current position in the educational market.

Relevant experience will include a strong commercial background (expertise in marketing and sales), recent experience of successful business management, and demonstrable success in the identification, development and management of commercial services. Experience of complex project management and contract management is essential, as is a good understanding of local government traded services and the educational market.
