Commercial Officer

A Commercial Officer is required for a Government Defence client based in Bristol. Ideally the suitable Commercial Officer will have previously worked on public sector/Government or MOD projects previously.

In the role the Commercial Officer will be responsible for identifying potential areas of inefficiency and changes that can be made to the scope of the contact. The Commercial Officer will propose changes to contract KPIs and propose and develop new payment mechanism and incentives regime. The Commercial Officer will need to have the communication skills and ability to deliver effective advice from financial and legal advisers and challenge tri service customer training requirements to deliver value for money.

The skills and experience required for the Commercial Officer role are as follows:

-MOD commercial experience (desirable)
-Experience of single source procurement pricing, negotiation
-Experience of market and company analysis
-Experience of PFI or service availability contracts (Desirable)
-Contract Management experience
-Negotiation skills
-Experience of working in industry partnering/collaborative agreements
-Working with financial and legal advisers
-Ideally ex-MOD or ex-public sector procurement but not essential
