Commercial Contract Manager - 6 monthly rolling

Description of role:

As an experienced Commercial/Contract Manager, you'll be working within our clients Digital and Learning Directorates, supporting services related to the provision of ICT in Education.

About the role:
You'll provide the direction and leadership required to ensure that the contracts associated with the work are managed effectively in terms of cost, quality and delivery.

Specifically you will:

Ensure consistently high levels of performance from suppliers and where required, take responsibility for key client relationships.

Manage all aspects of the contract SLAs and KPIs to ensure compliance, and to audit and report on these regularly.

Undertake detailed analysis of existing contracts to ensure that business continuity is effectively supported, and work closely with the relevant project managers to identify risks and mitigate them to acceptable levels.

Identifying and drive forward continued service improvements.

Work closely with operational staff to understand delivery objectives, technical requirements and challenges that may have an impact on how the contract needs to be managed.

Consult on and manage any contractual changes that may be required, liaising with procurement colleagues as appropriate.

Ensure that the contract management process is appropriately documented.

Essential Skills, Competencies, Experience and Relevant Qualifications:

Excellent verbal, written, presentation and communication skills.

Excellence interpersonal and organisational skills.

Good attention to detail and ability to extract key data in a form that is understandable to internal and external stakeholders.

Knowledge and experience of financial and contract management control systems.

Negotiation experience.

Experience of working alongside operational staff accompanied by experience of supporting large programmes and projects.

Desirable Skills:

Experience of or interest in working in the public and/or education sector.

Knowledge of contract and procurement law.
