Role Purpose:
The Enhanced Modular Air Defence System (EMADS) programme delivers the UK, Italy and Export GBAD weapon systems
The role is to contribute to the hardware development and delivery of the Command & Control (C2), Launch Management System (LMS) and Maintainer Local Terminal (MLT) sub-systems:
*Manage and maintain the C2 and MLT Console Hardware Requirement Specifications (HRS), ensuring delivery of the subsequent hardware products in line with the programme timescales and sub-system use
*Manage and maintain the C2 and LMS Hardware Software Interface Specifications (HSIS), in line with the programme timescales and sub-system use

Accountabilities:
*Technical development activities for the Dismounted C2 Console and MLT Console
*C2 Hardware Software Interface Spec (HSIS) and LMS HSIS agreement and maintenance, ensuring agreement across Software and Operations teams
*Use of DOORS for the HRS population and change management in response to Weapon System team inputs and User feedback
*Interfacing with Console Supplier(s) and internal design teams - for example Human Factors team to ensure the programme viability, HRS compliance and fitness for purpose of the proposed solution across all stakeholders
*Coordination and implementation of the agreed Dismounted C2 Console pre-qualification and qualification activities
*Coherency of Human Machine Interface (HMI) design response across Dismounted C2, MLT, and other consoles within the System
*Populate the Design Record to ensure the audit trail of design decisions
*Technical Requirement Specification (TRS) to Sub-System HRS traceability,
*Physical Interface documentation creation (eg C2PU-Console)
*Contribution to Design Verification Plans (DVP) and Requirement Verification Modules (RVM) for the Consoles
*C2, LMS and MLT Physical Change Control management

Skills and Knowledge:
*Sound understanding of System Engineering Process (including System and Sub-System Specification, System Test and Integration)
*Experience in engineering product delivery
*Experience in tools for Requirements Capture and Control (DOORS) and Configuration Management (Dimensions or RTC)
*Experience of technical problem solving
*Excellent communication skills (timing and content aspects)
*Trade Off analysis and solution generation
*Good project and risk management skills and knowledge
*Excellent 'can do' attitude and pro-active behaviours
*Engineering degree or equivalent
*Experience in software and/or hardware design and development programme
