Rate: £47.10 per hour LTD - Negotiable for the right candidate

OUTSOURCE UK LTD is actively seeking to recruit a Combat Systems Delivery Manager for a contract role on behalf of a client.

A leading Engineering and Defence organisation

THE JOB:
The Combat Systems Delivery Manager will be responsible to the Submarine Combat system technical authority for the achievement of the submarine subsystem engineering deliverables to the required maturity in accordance with the agreed programme. Work with the Combat System Programme and Project Managers to deliver the agreed engineering programmes and deliveries. Responsible for leadership of the submarine Subsystem Delivery Team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
The successful Combat Systems Engineer candidate will be responsible for the following:
Working with the Combat System Design Submarine Project Manager (PM) to define, agree and deliver the submarine engineering programme, ensuring that cost effective solutions are delivered in accordance with the programme requirements.
Ensure that the Submarine subsystem designs achieve the required maturity levels in accordance with the agreed programme.
Ensure that the Submarine Subsystems are safe, achieved to the required cost, and quality to support the programme.
Ensure that a rigorous design for cost reduction programme is implements across the Submarine Combat System Design.
Ensure that the current and future Engineering resource requirement is planned and work with the Combat system design Functional Leads to ensure that the Submarine Engineering Team is appropriately resourced to the plan in order to maintain the agreed programme of work.
Ensure that appropriate LCM, Design Control and Configuration Management are applied in accordance with the CCS Engineering Management Plan, across all engineering activities.
Working with the Submarine CSTA, the Chief Engineer (Assurance) and the Successor Design Coherence Lead define the inputs into the CCS Engineering Management Plan.
Responsible for the leadership of the Submarine Combat System Design Delivery Team.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE
Degree qualification in Engineering or an appropriate related discipline or equivalent
Thorough understanding and experience of complex systems engineering
Thorough understanding of formal engineering, test and acceptance processes
Proven experience in managing teams of direct reports (including subcontractors and teams of multi-disciplined engineers) with a variety of skills, knowledge and capability.
Track record of implementing and delivering innovative, cost effective solutions
