Cognos Administrator

Overall 10-12 years of experience with BI implementation

~Experience in Cognos, Data Warehousing projects

~Working experience on Framework manager modelling

~Cognos administration of installation, migration, configuration, maintenance, technical support and troubleshooting of Cognos implementation in shared and dedicated environments

~Cognos security implementation

~Cognos Audit configuration, Namespace configuration

~Understanding of Cognos Application Firewall setup and configuration.

~ Experiencing in defining authentication and authorization.

~Manage user profiles, roles, Permissions for folders/reports to Different user groups.

~Understanding of Cognos BI security model such as understanding and creation of new security group

~Add and manage a data source. Deploy, maintain and manage content store including backup and restore. Formulate backup strategy

~ Experience in monitoring system metrics, managing dispatchers and gateway services (CGI)

~Working experience in Report Studio, Query Studio, Event Studio (Cognos 10 preferably)

~Strong knowledge in Data warehouse concepts

~Install, upgrades, configures, tuning and maintain all components in an enterprise-wide Cognos based architecture

~ Provide leadership and direction on BI portion of project

~ Design and implement BI metadata and data dictionary design and standards using Cognos Framework Manager

~ Design and implement caching and performance architecture for Cognos tools

~ Knowledge of dimensional modelling design and principles

~Basic knowledge on Winscp, execute Shell Scripting on command prompt(to execute script from Cognos server for Format conversions or file removal )

~Ability to work in a high paced, multiple vendor global environments.

~Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment.

~ Strong leadership skills with the ability to adapt to challenges and to mentor team members.

~ Strong communications skills both orally and written.

~ Ability to speak effectively before groups of business and IT personnel
