Urgent Contract Requirement For A Cobol Developer in Chippenham/Doncaster with Travel - £300-£400 Per Day + Negotiable for the right skill set.

My Client are a true market leader in their field and they have a enviable position after winning multiple contracts and are looking to improve all of their infrastructure and software in a large 4 year programme.

The Person

You will be an experienced Cobol Developer with good communication skills, experience of documentation and recent COBOL Programming experience. It is highly desirable if you have ever worked within an upgrade/migration from COBOL to another Software Language as this is something my client is considering next year. You will also have a good understanding of a UNIX Operating System.

You will also have a certain degree of autonomy/flexibility in regards to your work location, you will be expected to travel to other sites throughout the country in the initial stages, but once you are up to speed you can work from a selection of offices throughout the UK, preferably Chippenham in the South West.

The Role

You will be working as part of a multi/disciplined team, you will use your Cobol development skills to help develop new functions, or make changes to existing ones to meet customer demand.
You will work within a development team, and may be involved in development of new products and maintenance of existing products.
Carrying out development in accordance with the agreed requirements and development standards.
Completion of work allocated within agreed time, cost and quality criteria and providing progress reports on assigned work as required.
You will be playing an active part in process improvement, governance, awareness of and compliance with all relevant quality processes and procedures, including completion of all the specified quality records and documentation.
