CLAS Consultant - Datawarehouse Experience, CESG, Rmads - North West

CLAS SECURITY CONSULTANT WITH PREVIOUS DATA WAREHOUSE EXPERIENCE, required for Government organisation based in Blackpool, North West.

CANDIDATES MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE CESG LISTED ADVISOR SCHEME, AND BE FAMILIAR WITH THE ACCREDITATION PROCEDURE AND RISK ASSESSMENTS TO HMG STANDARDS. ROLE WILL INVOLVE PROVIDING ADVICE AND GUIDANCE ON SECURITY MATTERS AND PRODUCTION OF RISK MANAGED ACCREDITATION DOCUMENT SET (RMADS)

A CLAS CONSULTANT EXPERIENCED IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF DATA WAREHOUSE CAPABILITY IS REQUIRED TO SUPPORT THE SOLUTION ARCHITECT IN THE IDENTIFICATION OF AN APPROPRIATE SOLUTION WHICH ALLOWS DELIVERY OF EXISTING DATA SERVICES, ADDRESSES THE KEY RISKS TO CURRENT DELIVERY AND PROVIDES CAPABILITY TO GROW SERVICES IN THE FUTURE.

High level business objectives are to quickly understand the current architecture, data structure, security requirements and business process. Quickly understand the future business requirements. Consider advantages and disadvantages of commodity, proprietary, open source solutions. Consider hosting options available and compare and contract private cloud, hybrid, gCloud, other alternatives etc. Consider the high level security approaches for the technical options in liaison with the security architect and security consultant. Work with the Solution Architect and IGS staff in design of the solution taking into account platform sizing, volumetrics, network connectivity, web services, web UI, ETL, data egress, data security, big data platform etc. Key deliverables include production of a High Level Technical Options Report and Solution Outline which must be baselined by 29/8/14. Business benefits are an agreed solution with preferred delivery option which meets IGS and future departmental needs from an Enterprise Level Data Warehouse capability.
