Claims Examiner - Admin - Reinsurance - London

Claims administrator paying £160 per day for 3 months in London. They are a global insurer with an exceptional reputation within the market.

Key features of the role

o Review and send loss documentation prepared by the Claim Administrator
o Answer reinsurers queries on local facultative claims within 5 days
o Obtaining agreement from reinsurers assigned with regard to claims recoveries including negotiation and escalation to Reinsurance Claims Lead where necessary
o Maintain reinsurance claim file update
o Identifying and addressing claims calculations anomalies and identified reinsurance recovery leakages
o Work with Underwriting and claim team leader deciding whether to execute and timing of cash calls
o Support claim issues (queries, loss documentation, wrong bookings), on Captive, local & corporate treaties and OMS as per war room instruction and live ledger codes (starting date tba)
o Responsible for managing catastrophe event identification and reporting to maximise reinsurance recoveries collection
o Provide feedback to Reinsurance Claims Lead and Ceded Reinsurance Manager regarding problematic contract terms and/or opportunities for improvements

Key competencies

* Work within agreed decision making standards, limitations and authorities
* Comply with key regulatory and risk management responsibilities
* Carry out all accountabilities and objectives within the framework of the company
* Proven track record in a reinsurance claims environment handling reinsurance claims of a similar complexity
* Ability to understand and interpret reinsurance contracts
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent negotiation and dispute resolution skills
* Proficiency in MS Office suite
* Exposure to SAP would be a plus
