Civil Engineer Job

CIVIL ENGINEER needed for a LONG-TERM CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Lake Mary, FL.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- This position is responsible for the civil engineering associated with the design and construction of Transmission Substation Projects.
- Design projects range from routine equipment modifications and installations to the complete design, permitting and construction of new green-field substation transmission facilities for large capital projects.
- Individual will be responsible for site design and layout to support permitting packages, foundations, structures and driveway designs as required by the project scope.
- Will be required to manage multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely release of engineering packages to meet project schedules.
- Analyzes engineering scenarios and performs necessary design calculations to comply with applicable codes and sound engineering practices.
- Final product is an engineering release package consisting of pertinent drawings and bill of material.
- Collaborates with other engineering disciplines, project managers and construction.
- Directs the work of internal or contract CADD operators to develop construction drawings, for transmission substations.
- Provides design support to construction personnel during project implementation.
- Assists construction in troubleshooting and problem resolution and provides on-site support.
- Modifies designs to address construction problems, environmental circumstances and public concerns.
- Verifies that field modifications will not undermine the integrity of the design and incorporates field modifications into the design documents to ensure configuration control of system components.
- Reviews and confirms completion of field revisions/as-built and returns completed drawings to the electronic drawing management systems.
- Performs other tasks as requested to support Transmission Substation Engineering.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Must have proficiency in reading survey drawings, geotechnical evaluations and utilizing a variety of tools (ICPR software) and techniques to complete an engineering design, including current design specifications, pertinent code manuals (eg Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), computer aided design/drafting software (eg AutoCAD), and other reference sources.
- Familiarity with construction specifications and cost estimating for civil work is preferred.
