Civil Engineer

The purpose of the Civil Engineer post is to create the specification and acceptance criteria for civil engineering works on selected projects in order to meet my client's goals. You will be working on a mobile-to-train project, and thus will produce the civil engineering options and specification to meet the requirements for this project. Civil Engineer Responsibilities:

- Establish the necessary technical requirements to comply with regulations and standards.
- Produce the civil engineering options and specifications, ensuring broader engineering requirements are met, as well as addressing reliability of service, maintenance regime, environment issues, affordability of railway etc.
- Lead the specification of the acceptance criteria for civil engineering works.
- Verify that maintenance regimes to support the updated railway are specified to match the commissioning programme.
- Ensure that accurate records relating to civil engineering assets are maintained and reflect current business status.
- Prepare the full engineering data package.
- Manage budget control.
- Check safety critical design documents.

Required Skills

- Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer.
- Extensive structural/civil engineering experience.
- Experience of CDM, risk assessment and other audits.
- Extensive knowledge of the policies and standards of structural engineering.
- Ability to manage complex engineering activity within a business environment.
- Work and communicate effectively in a team
- Knowledge and experience of mobile and fixed telecoms networks.
