Civil Engineer

Our client a Nuclear Site is seeking an experienced Technical Specialist to provide support to the Head of Compliance and Technical Support in all aspects of Civil or Structural Engineering. The Technical Specialist will be expected to provide innovative problem solving capability and act as the technical point of focus for the customer.

Deliverables

Your responsibilities will include;

- Assist the Civil System Engineer to help develop a strategy for the civil estate until end of life.
- Production of technical specifications for civil or structural aspects of work.
- Review design proposals and manufacturing activities in accordance with the safety case/design process and relevant codes and standards.
- Assure compliance with regulatory requirements for relevant scope of work.
- Participation at HAZOPs, design reviews and optioneering studies.
- Production of sufficient documentation (reports, specifications etc.) to provide quality control traceability records and substantiation for the design, manufacture, testing and commissioning all of the civil requirements and activities.

Key Skills

The successful candidate will possess;

- Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team environment.
- Previous technical experience preferably within the nuclear sector.
- Chartered or near Chartered Civil Engineer with a strong background in design and/or asset management.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, particularly with senior management.
- Excellent report writing skills
