Cisco Network Engineer - LAN - WAN - Windows - VoIP - Switzerland - Co

CISCO NETWORK ENGINEER required, to work within a major Pharmaceutical Client

MAIN SKILLS NEEDED:

- 5 Years IT Experience and Minimum 3 years direct Network Experience in a FAST PACED ENVIRONMENT
- The Candidate must have Expertise with Routing and Switching in Global Enterprise environment
- Expert Level using TCPDUMP and Network Sniffers for Advanced troubleshooting
- Ability to Support and troubleshoot Routing Protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)
- Strong understanding and experience implementing VPLS and MPLS WAN networks using BGP
- Experience with implementing and troubleshooting Multicast
- Must demonstrate proficiency in structured, problem-solving methodology
- Solid understanding of Cisco Wireless in the Enterprise
- Cisco Nexus (7K, 6k, 9k, 5K, 2K) experience a must
- QoS, VoIP, VRF, VRRP, HSRP, STP
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
- Very strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills
- Must be team oriented (mentor to junior staff, sharing knowledge, cross training, documentation)
- Experience building metrics and reporting - trending

MAIN TASKS:

- 10% Support Calls (Tier 1/2)
- Handle first line escalations from Service Desk
- IP Address assignments
- Switchport and VLAN assignments
- Performance and connectivity troubleshooting
- Wireless connectivity troubleshooting
- 45% Support Escalation, Advanced troubleshooting, Performance Monitoring, and continuous service improvement - (looking for someone who is motivated and proactive!)
- 45% Project based
- Daily Support for Cisco Campus Network consisting of 15 Buildings across different Sites

PLUSES WOULD BE:

- Cisco Wireless - WCS, WISM, Controllers, LWAP, Clean Air
- QIP or Infoblox DNS/DHCP IP Address Administration
- Understanding of GxP Compliance
- Juniper SSL VPN
- RSA ACE - SecurID
- Ability to handle high pressure situations and maintain professional composure at client site
- CiscoWorks
- Cisco ACS Servers
- Riverbed
- SolarWinds and SNMP

REQUIRED

- CCNP Certification or equivalent experience/knowledge
- afterhours and weekend support (fairly limited)
- Possible domestic and international Travel (limited)

LOCATION: Basel - Switzerland
DURATION: Asap - 31. 12.2016 (evtl. option for extension)
HOURLY RATE: 75.- CHF gross hourly rate, (equal 90.- CHF contractor all in rate, with an own limited Swiss company you could charge)
