You've got a significant background in project management, the PRINCE2 qualification and substantial knowledge of Six Sigma. You're also familiar with working in public sector organisations. Now you're ready for a job that will make a real impact on the lives of others. Consider joining the General Medical Council (GMC) as Certification Project Manager, based in Manchester.

We are the independent regulator for doctors in the UK. Our aim is to protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of the public by ensuring proper standards in the practice of medicine. In 2012, we undertook a major review of the process and legislation guiding the admission of doctors and medical professionals to the specialist register. We now need your unique skills to help implement the agreed changes.

Engaging with a number of external stakeholders from a host of high-profile and influential organisations, you'll further develop recommendations with them, keeping a performance, process and risk log to regularly update them on the project's progress. You'll maintain general project management administration and may also assist in the development of new legislation. Travel between Manchester and London will be required on occasions.

To succeed in this role you must have demonstrable experience facilitating project teams to deliver strategic improvements, as well as unparalleled influencing and communication skills with people of all levels. Your ability to prepare concise reports, along with your understanding of MS Project and Visio, is also highly desirable.
