Our client is a leading international mobile communications business currently looking for an experienced Category manager Network Support & Maintenance.

Role purpose:
Delivers optimal total cost of ownership for Networks Support & Maintenance category
Delivers against annual savings targets including synergy savings, order intake, and other value add measures whilst securing the delivery of projects, goods and services across the category.
Responsible for delivery of category cost insights, cost modelling and reference costs.

Key accountabilities:
Impact on the business
o Delivers global level 3/4 category strategy, spend and saving targets
o Manages global relationship with key category suppliers and where required leads global relationship across categories
o Provides inputs into the annual Supply Chain business planning process and inputs into reporting against targets
o Supports the aggregation of demand to leverage Client's global scale and scope
o Ensure the global level 3/4 categories are managed in terms of best practice operations and development
o Inputs into the development and implementation of category strategies in line with overall SCM strategy
o Delivery of category cost insights, cost modelling and reference costs
o Uses Supply Chain tools, process, policies and standards

Budget holders, supplier and third parties
o Negotiate industry leading terms with suppliers, optimise supplier performance
o Manage relationships with category stakeholders
o Understanding and providing insight on supplier roadmap
o Identify & evaluate potential future global suppliers
o Ensures key Supplier Performance and Relationships are optimised
o Visible with internal stakeholders, senior management of key suppliers and other business influencers

Leadership and teamwork
o Cooperate with the local markets, Shared Service Centres and Enablement functions as required
o Report issues that require escalation to management
o Responsible for ensuring budget holder's requirements are defined in the category strategy and related contracts

Innovation and change
o Provides input into defining innovative global category strategies
o Execute the implementation of Supply Chain Operational Excellence improvement plans
o Contributes to best practice and provides input into best practice forum.
o Investigate and drive performance improvements on specific opportunities identified within the category.
o Works with suppliers to identify innovation opportunities for the benefit of the category and the client

Knowledge and experience
o Experience of working in telecoms industry
o Experience of working in Supply Chain
o Experience of working in virtual and international teams
o Analytical skills to draw insights from a large volume of diverse data
o Delivery of the stakeholder engagement approach and communication plan
o Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with external suppliers ranging from short term tactical engagements to long term strategic partnerships.
