My Client is a Central Government body, who is looking for a Category Manager specialising in the Print Category. They ideally would like a candidate who can start ASAP and ideally have extensive experience in Print services, running tender exercises and managing contractual arrangements.

Essential Experience:

- Experience within Print environment and complexities of the supply base.
- Technical proficiency within specific Prints category area; sufficient to act as a trusted advisor to customers in dealings with suppliers and sufficient to engage in meaningful, challenging conversations with customers.
- Demonstrable experience of undertaking procurement tendering exercises, managing contractual arrangements and responsibilities for managing supplier performance
- High awareness of operational risk management in market sector and able to contribute to the translation of these in to commercial risk strategies

Key Accountabilities:

. Contribute to creation and execution of world class, market leading category strategy in end 2 end print processes and including sub-category strategies across Central Government (CG) and the Wider Public Sector (WPS).
. Lead customers with in depth market knowledge and apply this to create a deep understanding of customer requirements in area of responsibility
. Management of customer relationships to deliver efficiencies through the Print frameworks and specific initiatives identifying key stakeholders at departmental/organisational level, establishing communication plans
. Act as a source of expert market knowledge, insight and advice to customers, working with them to define optimal commercial strategies that deliver long term value and efficiencies
. Use lean processes to work with customers to identify business process change and re-shape end to end processes
. Exploit commercial intelligence and insights to understand the supplier landscape and engages the market to inform the buying process
. Support management of end to end supply chains identifying Total Cost of Ownership across multi -tier suppliers
. Contributes to Supplier Relationship Management across the Office Supplies category including the development of Supplier Action Plans to agree performance improvement goals, identification and delivery of savings initiatives and innovation opportunities
. Act as a source of expert market knowledge, insight and advice to customers, working with them to define optimal commercial strategies that deliver long term value and efficiencies
. Liaise with stakeholders and customers at a variety of levels to present/promote the Client Print category products/procurement strategy via working groups, customer meetings, exhibitions and events
. Interfacing with Trade Associations and other industry forums as appropriate
