Capital Adequacy Analyst

My client is a large bank, looking for a regulatory accountant.

The individual will assume an important role in the implementation and governance of the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), the Individual Capital Assessement (ICA) and Solvency II Own Risk Self-Assessment (ORSA) process across five bank entities.

A qualified candidate will work closely with Risk to implement the Basel II ICAAP and ICA and ORSA Project Plan through a series of workshops and UK Executive Committee and Board challenge sessions. The candidate will provide regular ICAAP updates to the Board and support to the business for new business and product initiatives.

This individual will need to be able to have strong presentation skills and communicate regulatory reporting matters to non-technical leaders in a clear and compelling manner.

* Responsible for the co-ordination and production of the annual ICAAP Statement for four EMEA bank entities covering asset management and banking.
* Responsible for the co-ordination and production of the annual Individual Capital Assessment (ICA) and Solvency II ORSA and associated documentation for a life insurance company.
* Assist with implementation and monitoring of Basel II ICAAP Project Plan, including deliverables, milestones, risks, issues and successes.
* Develop and maintain Pillar 2 and Pillar 3 documentation.
* Develop, design and present at management and UK Executive Committee ICAAP workshops.
* Responsible for preparing and presenting quarterly ICAAP updates to the UK Executive committee and Board on current and forecasted capital adequacy reporting.
* Working closely with internal management and external advisors to embed ICAAP and Solvency II process appropriately within the business.
* Development of Finance related Key Risk Information (KFI) tracking and reporting.
* Review, oversight and compliance with regulatory reporting and Home-Host committee requirements.
* Support the implementation of new Basel III regulatory requirements in conjunction with other subject matter experts in the International Regulatory Reporting and ICAAP working group.
* Manage internal and external audit relationships within area of responsibility and convey position on audit issues where necessary.
* Support new product and business initiatives by working closely with Finance peers to prepare capital requirement assessments.
* Participation in the design and execution of ICAAP training covering recent and existing regulatory requirements for new senior management.
* Continuously broaden and deepen expertise in ICAAP rules via self-directed research and training.

Interview by hiring manager plus another member of Regulatory and Compliance team.
Second interview by VP and Director of Regulatory and Compliance team (plus possiblly a member of risk team).

Finance: Regulatory and Compliance Team
* Advanced knowledge of Basel II (BIPRU, GENRU and INSPRU) and understanding of the regulation of banks, insurance and investment management firms
* Relevant experience of ICAAP, ICA, stress testing and reverse stress testing development within a regulated institution.
* An advanced knowledge of investment types and products.

* ACCA/CIMA and/or equivalent
* 5+ years experience within Financial Services
