Cabling/Installation Security Devices

PURPOSE:

The basic function of this position is to act as the on-site installer for all voice and data networking installation projects nationwide. The position pays $18 to $24 per hour.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Cabling and installation for security devices such as motion detectors, hold-up contacts and keypads.
- Installation will be completed Wednesday at 4pm and required completion by 7am Thursday.
- Secondary visit required on Friday at 8am to attend a meeting with the security provider.
- Third visit required on Friday at 3:30pm for installation of devices provided by security provider.
- Keep the Project Manager/Installation Coordinator advised on the status of current projects.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- 3-5 years experience in the cabling for alarm devices
- Knowledge in security systems installation/troubleshooting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft operating systems and applications (Visio, Excel, Word)

EDUCATION

- High school diploma
- Technical degree from a trade school is desirable

REQUIRED TOOLS

- Basic cabling/wiring tools
- 8 foot ladder
- Digital Camera
- Continuity Tester

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Physical demands: Candidate must be able to lift up to 60 lbs and the ability to climb a ladder.
- Visual ability: Visual accommodation is necessary for reading blueprints and computer screen.
- Hearing ability: Must be able to make and receive phone calls.
- Working conditions: Candidate will be subject to high noise levels, physical exposure to moving machinery, and exposure to fumes, dust, and mists.

SCOPE OF CONTACTS

- Incumbent will interface with most internal departments and will have a high degree of interface with external customers.

DEGREE OF CONTROL

- High degree of confidentiality as incumbent has access to drawings, prints, and cost information.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS REQUIRED

- Must exhibit a high degree of good interpersonal skills.

INDUSTRY CERTIFICATIONS

- RCDD certification or currently pursuing certification is preferred
