MY CLIENT IN DUNWOODY,GA IS LOOKING FOR A CABLE NETWORK OPERATIONS ANALYST FOR A LONG TERM CONTRACT.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Responsible for supporting nationwide video services delivery, including advanced multi-screen linear and VIDEO ON DEMAND (VOD) SERVICES.

Performs as member of NATIONAL NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTER TEAM, providing incident management, problem resolution, and maintenance support for VIDEO INFRASTRUCTURE and APPLICATIONS. Requires working knowledge of HEAD END COMPONENTS, IP VIDEO DELIVERY AND STREAMING PROTOCOLS, CONTENT DELIVERY NETWORKS (CDN), and client systems.

Preferred candidate would have LINUX AND SOFTWARE ADMINISTRATION EXPERIENCE, solid understanding of IP NETWORKING, and proficiency using NETWORK/SERVICES MANAGEMENT TOOLS. Able to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful operational readiness for new product/services launch.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform incident and problem management functions and operational support for video services platform infrastructure and applications.
- Assist with development, implementation, and continuous improvement of operations processes/best practices.
- Incident/problem management functions including: Incident detection, notification, documentation, escalation management, services restoration, and root cause analysis.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system & application errors and performance problems
- Manage outage notifications and communications, including organizing and leading conference bridges (technical and executive)
- Identify and analyze repeat/chronic issues and provide recommendations to address
- Provide operational readiness/enablement support for new and emerging technologies
- Participate in conducting lab evaluations and integration testing of solution elements
- Build collaborative relationships with internal cross-functional stakeholder technology and engineering/operations groups

QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM:

- Minimum 2+ YEARS EXPERIENCE IN TECHNICAL OPERATIONS, SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION, OR ENGINEERING ROLE TROUBLESHOOTING AND MAINTAINING CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE AND SERVICES
- LINUX/UNIX SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION AND SERVICES EXPERIENCE AND GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF TCP/UDP PROTOCOLS, SNMP, SYSLOG, AND APPLICATIONS MONITORING.
- Working knowledge of DIGITAL VIDEO DELIVERY TECHNOLOGIES, IP NETWORK PROTOCOLs and configurations
- DNS understanding and work experience
- Familiarity with REMEDY, NETCOOL, ZENOSS, SPLUNK or similar ticketing and monitoring tools
- Must be able to work through technical resolution of problems in a cross functional 24x7 environment
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's or Associates degree in related discipline or equivalent work experience

PREFERRED:

- Good understanding of content delivery networks (CDN). Familiarity with Apache Traffic Server.
- Familiarity and experience with HTTP/1.1, JBoss, IIS, VMware virtual environments
- CCNA highly desired
- Linux RHCE certification preferred
- Familiarity with ITIL/eTOM principles
