C & I Technician

An excellent opportunity has arisen to work as a C&I Technician for a market leading Utilities company based in their location Nottingham.

Role Purpose:

An opportunity exists for a highly motivated and safety aware craftsman who has proven skills to join the Maintenance delivery team at Nottingham Ratcliffe on Soar Power station where you would be undertaking routine maintenance, repairing defected plant and delivering outage work as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Experience needed:

A control and instrumentation craftsman shall have the following attributes:
* Has previous power station experience in this field.
* Strong focus and proven personal safety record
* Completed a relevant Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent

Has the ability to use a variety of test equipment to diagnose faults on control systems & control loops, field based transmitters (pressure, flow, temperature etc) resistance thermometers &thermocouples. Be able to read and interpret P&ID drawings and design specifications to ensure correct operation of instrumentation systems.

To undertake in house training to "Nominated Competent Person" able to work within the client's safety rules in a safe and appropriate manner whilst understanding the scope of the work and its stated limitations. Have the ability to work within a team environment, be proactive, a good communicator.
Have a flexible working ethos and can adapt their working times in alignment with the demands of 24/7 power generation and availability to ensure key outage programme dates are met.

Key skill requirements
* Technical attributes to undertake fault diagnosis and repairs of level, pressure and temperature transmitters/devices
* Technical attributes to use Beamex calibrator and record data from calibrations
* Validate control loops through to point of computer interface
* Technical attributes to undertake fault diagnosis and repairs of water quality instrumentation with particular focus on flow meters, turbidity, and residual chlorine.
* Technical attributes to set up and commission pneumatic control actuators.
* Have a thorough understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
* Demonstrate a flexible approach and be willing to undertake any reasonable activity within your capability including training and development as required to support business requirements.
