Buyer Position

CHALLENGE

- In this role you will be challenged to understand regional differences in supplier capability and constraints; Deep working knowledge of all purchasing transactions, processes.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Understand regional differences in supplier capability and constraints.
- Liaises with material planning on stock and inventory management.
- Procures material for complex demand-side plans during outsourcing transitions and EC implementations.
- Experienced in purchasing communication techniques and interfacing with suppliers.
- Builds and sustains a network of people in relevant business areas to ensure knowledge transfer and sharing of best practices.
- Exemplifies a strong sense of urgency in getting material to the right place on time. Knows how to expedite when necessary.
- Has the ability to visualize the availability and suitability of materials throughout complex transitions - build location, engineering changes, etc.
- Deep working knowledge of all purchasing transactions, logistic processes and master data creation.
- Strong understanding of inventory management.

REQUIREMENTS:

- 3 or more years of relevant experience in a high tech industry.
- Buyer must understand how the parts are used and be able to read the blueprints for them.
- Has basic technical understanding of our components. Understands engineering drawings.
- Demonstrates A-B-C and 80-20 thinking styles.
- Based on the ABC classification of parts, Sr. Buyer needs to have ability to handle A&B items as well as complex components.
- Must be able to handle low medium complexity parts
- Strong understanding of material requirements planning (MRP)
- Strong negotiating skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and multi-tasking ability
- Strong Excel skills, macro is advantage
- SAP knowledge - key user skills
