This role requires a 'hands-on' approach, and will contribute strategically to the direction of the Procurement department. Contributing to the development of the Company supply chain & overseas sourcing through purchasing raw materials and / or finished goods, including sourcing and development of suppliers. This role will also play a key in active participation of cost reduction programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Balance supply and demand via effective use of MRP to maintain material schedule.
Visit suppliers and vet them using a supplier/vendor assessment process.
Manage current projects to support business in meeting customer expectations
Raise RFQ's and negotiate prices to successfully bring in products within budget.
Assist in development of new processes to improve lead-time but reduce inventory
Support Design engineers in sourcing new raw materials/ samples and the information on availability and pricing of such items.
