BUYER, HARWELL, £11 TO £13.50 PER HOUR LTD, TEMPORARY

My client, based in Harwell is looking for a Buyer responsible for processing purchase requests and ensuring value for money and compliance with my clients.

BUYER, YOU WILL ALSO CARRY OUT THE FOLLOWING:

- Liaise with suppliers to discuss issues regarding existing or new purchase orders
- Maintain regular contact with the Finance team in order to follow up any payment queries from suppliers including investigating the reasons for unexpected delivery charges
- Update supplier/new supplier information on the system
- Maintain and update the credit account file, setting up new credit accounts with suppliers where necessary
- Support the other members of the Procurement team as required

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

- Ability to negotiate optimum conditions with suppliers
- Ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels
- Self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative
- Computer literate, particularly in Excel & Word
- Experience using an electronic procurement system
