Business Systems Analyst

BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST POSITION IN MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OH. THIS IS A 6-MONTH CONTRACT POSITION WITH EXTENSION LIKELY. THE IT BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST IS AN INTERMEDIATE LEVEL POSITION RESPONSIBLE FOR SERVING AS A LIAISON BETWEEN BUSINESS GROUPS AND/OR TECHNOLOGY GROUPS IN THE ROLE OF FORMULATING AND DEFINING SYSTEMS REQUIREMENTS, SCOPE, AND OBJECTIVES THROUGH RESEARCH AND FACT-FINDING COMBINED WITH AN UNDERSTANDING OF BUSINESS SYSTEMS AND INDUSTRY REQUIREMENTS. WORKS CLOSELY WITH BUSINESS CUSTOMERS TO UNDERSTAND PLANNED ENHANCEMENTS OR SYSTEMS MODIFICATIONS OR SPECIFICATIONS FOR NEW SYSTEMS. CONDUCTS BUSINESS PROCESS ANALYSES, NEEDS ASSESSMENTS, TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE EVALUATIONS, AND/OR PRELIMINARY COST/BENEFITS ANALYSES IN AN EFFORT TO ALIGN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS WITH BUSINESS INITIATIVES. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE ANALYSIS OF APPLICATIONS DEVELOPMENT GOALS, BUSINESS AND END-USER NEEDS, DOCUMENTING REQUIREMENTS AND MAKING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SYSTEM LOGIC, ENHANCEMENTS, SERVER CAPACITY PLANNING, OR FLOW AS NECESSARY. MAY GUIDE OR ADVISE LESS EXPERIENCED STAFF AS APPROPRIATE.

Overtime: straight time

- 3+ years BSA experience plus college degree or 5+ years BSA experience without degree.
- Insurance system experience, particularly Claims experience.
- Experience both in application development/enhancement and in vendor package upgrade/implementation.
- Strong emphasis on requirements elicitation and management, including expertise in the creation of standard requirements artifacts: use case diagrams, systems requirements documents, (that include functional and non-functional requirements), traceability matrixes and other relevant diagrams.
- Experience with requirements elicitation and interviewing techniques to gather requirements from subject matter experts (SMEs) and project stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and written.
- Ability to learn new terminology and concepts quickly.
- Ability to see big picture and conceptualize an end product.
- Strong PC skills, including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
- Ability to negotiate and foster cooperation.
