Business Solutions Analyst

The ADM ( Application Development and Maintenance) division ensures competitiveness by defining and delivering reliable and sustainable IT solutions for the financial securities markets.

ROLE:

We are currently looking for a Business Solutions Analyst to apply development projects that require team members mastering a large and heterogeneous set of application development competencies, and able to leverage them all to swiftly deliver IT solutions to the business.

This large set of competencies includes:

-Develops effective relationships with business units, divisions or groups of users
-Acts as a liaison between the IT development group and business units for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems to the satisfaction of the business unit/division
-Evaluates requests for new applications and identifies systems requirements,
-Evaluates requests for new IT developments and evolving business requirements, and recommends appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems
-Analyzes business and technical requirements, design and develops program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications
-Codes, tests, debugs, documents, implements and maintains software applications
-Tests and integrates application components
-Prepares communications and makes presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives
-Establishes and maintains service level agreements and is the main point of contact for all service issues.
-Leverages a large and heterogeneous set of application development competencies to contribute to the swift delivery of business complex IT solutions.
-Is involved in the full life cycle of projects and/or system maintenance activities, ranging from business analysis to deployment, with a specific focus on the Analysis, programming and testing activities

PROFILE:

-Contributes to project definitions and initial cost assessments, and possibly to the integration in projects of various project suppliers and vendors
-Translates business requirements into detailed function specifications and if necessary, manages requests for changes to the specifications.
-Has sound knowledge of the organization's business services, business processes, associated systems and corresponding technologies for a given area
-Requires the capacity to understand specific client needs or technical requirements in order to apply well-developed skills or knowledge.
-Liaises with internal and/or external clients to understand business and system requirements and existing business processes.
-Determines which business requirements can and should be automated and how these automated functions will integrate into the rest of the business and IT processes.
-Is involved as from the early phases of projects or maintenances by gathering information, performing analysis, and eliciting the details of user requirements in discussion with users:
-Designs or modifies information systems through process of business analysis; identifying user needs, documenting these in structured business requirements documentation (HLBR, DBR) and translating them into functional and technical specifications.
-Considers non-functional requirements such as computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
-Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.
-Considers the impact on internal teams and external clients.
-Carries out application development.
-Capable of operating autonomously and without close supervision on many design, programming, testing and maintenance activities for complex software applications .
-Self sufficiency is an essential requirement of this role.
-Capable of designing changes in highly complex parts of a system, but work would then be checked by more experienced colleagues.
-Contribute to the creation and maintenance of the permanent design documentation
-Supports application software running in production by fixing problems and making enhancements.
-Tests and integrates new and/or updated application components, including the planning and design of test scripts.
-May be responsible for the implementation and execution of these test scripts or may supervise testers who perform this activity.
-May have direct control over programmers from time to time, but the programmers may also formally report into someone else.
-Could be in charge of a stream of maintenance activities, ensuring change requests and small enhancements are progressed.
-May lead small, low-risk projects, such as stand-alone systems or functionality enhancements for existing systems.
-Could also coordinate the implementation of a defined, short-term project or sub-set of projects (less than one year) within set organizational procedures and standards.
-Responsible for meeting sub-set objectives within quality, time, and budget targets, and for managing associated risks.
-Has a good knowledge of the application development techniques and best practices allowing to swiftly deliver IT solutions to the business (eg agile development, prototyping, ).
-Typically works on moderately complex, large and high importance/impact projects.
-Is usually assigned to the analysis of moderate complex business requirements, processes and IT systems.

Gives advice on an incidental basis. -Will often coach or mentor less senior professionals.
