Business Planning and Investment Strategy Consultant

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

An investment holding company is looking to diversify its investment portfolio. The project has been initiated in order for the Consultant to recommend areas and firms in the manufacturing industry wherein the holding company can invest their funds. Particularly the holding is looking into investing into the following goods and business areas:

- Electrical generators
- Switch gears
- Meters
- Elevators
- Transformers
- Electrical cables
- Fiber cables and FTTH products
- Renewable systems
- The electrical products which used in the construction industry
- Electrical and electronic components used in different industries
- Power generation station
- Water distillation station.

The scope is as follows:

- Identifying key market opportunities
- Defining business environment issues related to industrial development
- Developing an investment strategy
- Developing organizational capabilities.

The project covers following phases:

- Market environment assessment
- Initial position and assessment of market potential
- Competitor Analysis
- Definition of Strategic Targets and Positioning
- Development of Partnering Strategy & Selection Criteria
- Development of Financial Business Plan

PROJECT TASKS OF FREELANCER:

- Support the team in the definition and identification of the business areas for investment in the Electro-mechanical and electrical sectors
- Leading discussion on the technical specifications/requirements of identified goods and business areas with interview partners
- Collect and process market research data on the identified business areas and team up with finance to define relevant revenue and cost drivers
- Responsible for the calculation of OPEX and CAPEX for the relevant business areas identified

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION OF FREELANCER:

- Electro-mechanical technicians or electrical and Mechanical Engineer
- Strong understanding of markets in the Electro-mechanical and electrical sectors
- Skills in business planning and strategy formation for the manufacturing industry
- CAPEX and OPEX modelling of goods in the above mentioned business areas
- Strong understanding of the business drivers in the Electro-mechanical and electrical sector
- Skills in manufacturing planning
- Skills in the research and development of trends in Electro-mechanical and electrical sector
- Strong written and verbal communications skills in English
- Skills that cover above tasks
