New exciting role for a Business Objects Finance Systems Consultant to work for a large financial company based in Reading.

Role:
The role will be to develop plans for financial systems improvement and deliver significant systems enhancements to ensure accurate financial accounting.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

*Provide single point of expertise on Technical requirements for accounting interfaces with Contract Engines - such as Opal, OB, Capsil, SALAS and Peoplesoft Financials
*Represent Finance on any Projects where changes to Business Systems will affect Accounting systems - such as New Product Developments.
*Develop plans to manage and deliver projects. Work with Tech and Business Project Managers to define action plan to deliver
*Produce specifications for systems development
*Produce testing plans for systems acceptance.
*Produce documentation on systems usage. Ensure that all procedural and systems documentation is up to date as result of systems changes.
*Develop training plan for the release of system change. Ensure that users are fully competent in using new functions.
*Work with Finance areas to agree Business Requirements to deliver projects that meet Customer Need. Understand what the business needs to achieve as a result of the project and document with user sign-off.
*Liaise with external suppliers where appropriate to deliver the required new systems functionality.
*Compliance - to ensure that you understand and adhere to a Code of Conduct and where appropriate, comply with all relevant regulatory policies. This includes completion of any mandatory training requirements.
*Financial Controls - Ensure all expenditure commitments (orders, contracts, budgets etc) and all payments are properly authorised, controlled and monitored, in accordance with delegated authority requirements. The responsibilities of expenditure authorisers are documented in the Financial Procedures Manual.
*Performance Management - To ensure the delivery of People Management all its processes and tools are fully utilised in managing your people.
To demonstrate a positive risk, compliance and control culture through the identification, assessment, monitoring and management of risks and issues within the business area, alongside ensuring timely and appropriate resolution of control weaknesses, actions and failures that arise.
