Business Intelligence Solution Analyst

For our client we are looking for a Business Intelligence solution analyst:
Project Start: ASAP
Project duration: 6 months with an option to extend
Location: Brussels

Goal of the Function
The Business Intelligence Solution Analyst will work with Business Partners at all levels, Stakeholders, End Users, Product managers, IT management, Development Staff and Systems Analysts to apply professional principles, practices and techniques to deliver BI solutions, based on thorough requirements gathering, work estimation, and quality assurance testing. His/her role is to capture and understand the business requirements (both from a project- & a change request perspective) and translate them into designs for BI components, which are comprehensible for technical BI developers. He/she will assist in the user acceptance testing phases. In comparison with a source application owner, a business analyst has insight across many areas, where as a source application owner typically has in-depth insight in one area only. The Business Intelligence Solution Analyst documents the different Information Domains and provides Training and Support to the BI users. All this is done to ensure that the BICC can provide information that meets the needs of the client, to use within the company or to provide it to external stakeholders (like the banks).

Function Areas Accountability
1: Gather Business needs Goal: Making sure all necessary angles and viewpoints are considered by asking the right questions so that Business users have been able to express the exact Business needs Accountability
2: Translate requirements into BI solutions Goal: analysing the requests and make the necessary design decision to draw a future oriented, flexible and straightforward Business Intelligence solution Accountability
3: Assist in User Acceptance Tests Goal: Ensuring BI Solution components have a high level of adoption within the various Business departments by demonstrating quality and trustworthiness Tasks:
a) Pre-validate the delivered solution components towards the Design and the Analytical Purposes
b) Facilitate in defining test scope and test scenario's
c) Support key users during
Acceptance Testing Accountability
4: Provide training and support to BI users Goal: attain a high level of Self-Service Business Intelligence within the various Business departments by ensuring Answers to various Analytical Questions

Qualifications:
Bachelor/Master Experience

At least 4-5 years of experience in
- Business Analysis in an IT environment
- Data Modeling for Analytical Data Structures
- Knowledge of UML/Archimate is a plus
- Query writing in SQL
- Cubes usage (SSAS)
- Power View, Power Pivot, Power Query
- Data Quality analysis.
- Good knowledge of Data Warehousing and BI concepts
- Experience with principles of data warehousing (Kimball, source to target mapping)
- Notions of Agile concepts, issue tracking, data vault, advanced analytics, businesss processes

Languages:
Preferably 3-lingual - English/Dutch/French
