My client a global technology leader is currently looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to join their team on a 12 month contract initially

Overview

The Business Intelligence Developer needs to be able to analyze business requirements (eg, functional and technical requirements, information need, business processes) by conducting information-gathering sessions with internal customers, analysing the information and prioritizing the requirements to gain understanding of the business needs and develop the automated and technical solution to these requirements.Responsibilities

- Development of end-to-end solutions
- Provide the business with efficient and scalable solutions by developing automated Business Intelligence tools to replace manual solutions
- Continually devising ways to improve existing reports and remove scalability issues as data volumes increase.
- Perform the following types of analysis at an expert level;
- Static Reports
- Dynamic Queries
- Ad-Hoc Queries
- Statistical Analysis
- Define database schemas to meet BI tool needs.
- Develop ETL Scripts to load and transform large volumes of data
- SME for all key reporting systems and BI analytical tools.

Areas of responsibility

- Continually developing more productive code to automate processes
- Lead global reporting initiatives when assigned
- Work cross functionality with including sales and Marketing to develop end to end reporting
- Collaborate with internal customers to jointly identify the business systems requirements
- Draw conclusions from the analysis and present it in a relevant manner to the business users.

Skills & Experience

- Degree in Computer Science or related fields
- Experience in working with and managing databases.
- Experience in developing web reporting interfaces
- 5 years software development experience.
- Last 3 years Business Intelligence or Database Architect.
- Experience of Teradata a distinct advantage.
- Experience with enterprise RDBMS such as Oracle or MySQL
- Experience with UNIX Shell Scripting
- Experience with Business Objects
- Strong SQL writing experience
- Expert understanding of Data Warehousing Data Modeling & ETL concepts
- Experience in ETL tools such as Informatica, Ab-initio or data staging
- Strong understanding of Reporting Tools
- Proficient in Excel and other reporting tools such as BRIO
- Good time management, analytical and communication skills.
- Good business acumen and the ability to see the full picture
