Business Intelligence Consultant Global Data and Analytics

My client is elevating the Business Intelligence and data asset capability across all business domains and operating countries as a pillar to improve business performance and better predict the business going forward. The purpose of this job is to support in building a common language on how we measure business performance, work closely with IT to build better systems and drive business performance improvement through the delivery of actionable information and insights.

Key responsibilities

- Responsible for the ongoing report maintenance of existing reports within GDA
- Translate business requirements into meaningful KPIs and standardised reports to monitor and drive the business
- Develop simple and easy to use dashboards to provide actionable insights to business stakeholders
- Collect, organise, analyse and interpret data and statistical information to extrapolate behaviour and patterns from the data that will provide innovation direction and use cases back to the business using SQL and visualisation tools such as Qlik
- Provides design and methodology recommendations to maintain effective database management focusing on data collection and analysis
- Proactive approach to identify opportunities to enhance reporting efficiency and methodology
- Interprets complex data sets for trends and patterns to focus attention on specific areas to improve customer experience and drive the reduction of business costs
- Prepare written and graphical summaries on the interpretation of analysed data and scenarios
- Quality Control of key performance indicators (KPI's) on: overall consistency, input completeness and output quality
- Works in close collaboration with all the analysts and data scientists within the GDA team

Skills & Qualifications

- BSc/BA in business, finance, engineering, statistics or has equivalent experience
- 0-3 years work experience
- Database experience including experience in coding across commercial databases (eg Oracle, Teradata, MySQL etc.)
- Advanced knowledge in Data Visualisation Applications and reporting tools such as Qlik, Tableau, MicroStrategy, PowerBI
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and numerical ability - able to analyse and interpret data, evaluate data and make recommendations based on data and market trends
- A highly motivated self-starter who is able to work independently and effectively under tight time constraints and deliver accurate results.
- Passionate, hardworking and thrive in a collaborative and fast paced environment
- Able to work without close supervision and can communicate and manage priorities effectively to meet deliverables
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Knowledge of telecommunication industry advantageous, but not essential
