Business Intelligence Analyst

Objective

Create correct and in time automated dashboards/reports/business intelligence for different business units (eg Retail, Logistics, etc.), in line with the business needs, the BI vision as well as IT reality, in order to ensure the requested information/insights are correct and available and improves company decisions and actions.

Key Result Area's/Goals

Data collection and transformation into insights
Collect, analyze and challenge data and input from multiple sources, as a basis for appropriate and accurate reporting for the business, to accelerate and improve company decision making
Know multiple sources to gather the necessary data
Develop and maintain the requirements to create automated data warehouses and ETL processes
Analyze and challenge the business objectives and needs, in terms of information and insightsUse strong storytelling and visualization skills to share actionable insights across the company
Rationalize the existing KPI's and report sets based on company strategy
Explore data to find new patterns and relationships
Conduct automated 'what if'- analysis

Information solutions
Translate the needs into business process views, business requirements, data models, dashboards, analysis, reports etc., taking into account the software capabilities and overall business architecture guidelines, in order to build the optimal solution for the organization
Analyse different possible solutions taking into account the future architecture
Create automated reports, dashboards, (predictive) analysis
Write requirements and ask IT to developPerform functional testing of the information solutions

Project management
Participate/manage projects in the area of BI in line with the projectplan and deliverables, in order to ensure the realization of projects on time, within budget and according to agreed objectives
Be a project member and perform the tasks which are assigned to you
Take preventive and/or corrective actions when necessary
In time, in budget and in scope delivery of the project tasks under your responsibility

Knowledge management
Keep track of relevant developments in the field of BI, exchange knowledge with colleagues and contribute to knowledge transfer within the organization, in order to be informed on trends and developments and be able to put these into practice
Identify (own) training needs and ensure these are fulfilled
Keep deep knowledge of functional processes, data architecture and BI tooling up-to-date
Study relevant literature
Attent relevant seminars/events
Monitor changes within the own domain and communicate on them
Develop and maintain own network for the purpose of knowledge management
Share your knowledge with colleagues and stakeholders and create full transparency on it by maintaining our knowledge management syst

Relationship management
Build and maintain internal relationships with regard to BI, in order to have an optimal cooperation with all relevant stakeholders
Maintain internal contacts
Discuss with IT developers and IT Architects so they can develop solution
Communicate with all levels of leadershipBuild relationships with our internal clients
Empower the data stewards in the business to ensure a high level of data quality
Explain why certain results occurred in the data
Forecast future results
Attend meetings with the business
Facilitate meetings and work sessions to gather requirements

Requirements

Education
Master or equivalent by experience

Experience
3 to 5 years of experience as Business Analyst, process analyst or BI analyst

Skills
First knowledge of BI tools + learning agility to quickly learn the use of BI tools (SAP BO webi, SAP BO design
studio, SAP BW, Microstrategy, Cognos, Tableau, Excel, etc.)
Advanced Excel skills
Understands DWH
Able to work autonomously
Analytical skills

Languages = Fluent in English, + (fluent in either NL or FR, with an understanding of the other language)
