BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYST
SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Business Intelligence/Data Reporting Analyst to analyse, troubleshoot and develop existing processes, data workflows and reports. The successful candidate will work closely with the various business teams and management to maintain and develop the current reporting suit. The candidate must be able to lead projects and negotiate with the various internal stakeholders.
WHAT WE WANT:
We are looking for a dynamic, analytical and enthusiastic person, who can identify opportunities to enhance existing processes. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines. You will be expected to understand the various data flows and data sources, review data, define integrity checks, data validation and develop SQL reports.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU:
- Excellence in data analytics, ETL and data warehousing techniques
- The ability to work closely with internal customers to define BI project requirements and scope
- Develop Business Intelligence solutions which meet business requirements
- Create structured and ad hoc reports using SQL and/or the company's Business Intelligence tools
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Collaboration with development and operational stakeholders.
- Supporting the BI applications through their life cycle of testing, deployment, operation, maintenance and enhancement.
- Perform quality checks on reports and exports to ensure exceptional quality
- Train business users how to use BI tools
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Third level qualifications and 2 to 3 years of related professional experience OR equivalent experience
- In depth knowledge of ETL, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with modern development tools such as Subversion/Git and Jira
- A high level of analytical, planning and organizational ability
- Excellent SQL skills
- Hands-on experience in designing, developing and supporting large and complex ETL (Extraction, Transformation and Load) system
- Strong practical usage of multidimensional design principles, including slowly changing dimensions as well as full life cycle generation of Fact and Dimension tables and their usage
- Have a strong attention to the finer points of detail
- Experience of working with agile as a software development methodology.
- Proven ability to work with BI architecture (staging area, data marts, OLAP cube)
