BUSINESS/DATA ARCHITECT FOSTER CITY, CA 12 MONTH CONTRACT

MUST HAVE SKILLS:

Candidates must have a Bachelors degree and 15+ years of experience is ideal. Candidates must have an understanding of Enterprise Architecture processes, methods, and frameworks, including proficiency in business process modelling and redesign, requirements management, and research tools. Must also be an expert in data models, data dictionaries, and relational data bases. Must be an expert in use of spreadsheets for advanced data analytics and modelling and great with Excel. Our client is seeking senior level candidates who can lead business architecture conversations, and also experience delivering business architecture artifacts. All candidates must have strong communication skills, and have the ability to work with senior leaders. Candidates must be comfortable driving a lot of discussions and decisions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- BA/BS in business, information systems, computer science, or a related discipline required
- MBA or other advanced degree in a related discipline a plus
- Minimum of 15+ years of work experience in a business consulting, process redesign, business/system analysis and architecture type of role
- Financial services and card payments experience a plus

SKILLS:

- Outstanding verbal, written, presentation, facilitation, and business/IT partner interaction skills. In particular, ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organizational levels internally and externally.
- Ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence with both business and IT partners at all levels.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills, including the ability to perceive patterns and relationships between technologies, processes, data, and business models, to create original concepts and theories, and to think creatively beyond normal constraints. Highly proficient in creating visual models.
- Understanding of Enterprise Architecture processes, methods, and frameworks, including proficiency in business process modelling and redesign, requirements management, and research tools.
- Expert in data models, data dictionaries, relational data bases
- Expert in use of spreadsheets for advanced data analytics and modelling.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work with product and technology teams to create and manage data models and data dictionaries for multiple and related projects. Influence and provide input into data architecture and API design.
- Research, analyze, determine capabilities, and propose solution alternatives that address business needs. Collaborate with business and technical subject matter experts to identify alternative solutions and advise them both on options and tradeoffs.
- Produce shared models, diagrams, and documents (may include business requirements, use cases, process models, domain models, or capacity models) to effectively communicate multiple views of the business solution.
- Lead and facilitate working sessions.
- Use Business Architecture artifacts and analysis efforts to work with business partners to define and design business processes and to identify and promote enabling technologies.
