Tier One Investment Bank based at Canary Wharf has an immediate requirement for an experiened Business/Product Controller to work within their Equity Derivatives Business Control Function.

This vital function is the primary face off to Front Office senior management team, Risk Management, Accounting Policy Group and Financial Accounting. The group has extensive Product Control experience that allows them to make decisions requiring a high level of judgement. The team provides a qualitative, analytical, value-add service to the business.

This contract is an initial 6 months but has scope and budget to go further into 2014.

Overall goal
*Business Product Controllers must be highly attentive to risk and the importance of a strong control environment and show a high attention to detail in all aspects of their work.
*They must also possess highly developed analytic, interpersonal and communication skills to enable them to develop relationships with their key clients and to understand and address their issues.

Essential skills
*Fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
*3-5 years' experience working in an Investment Bank within Product/Business Control - preferably in an Equity Derivatives Business Control Function.
*Demonstrable experience in building close working relationships with senior individuals in the organisation
*Strong first university degree, preferably in a quantitative subject
*Team player, proactive, self starter, who can be dynamic and implement process changes

Key Deliverables
*Vadlidate Daily P&L calculated by Line Control through risk based explained techniques and new trade analysis
*Produce Weekly P&L and Monthly P&L cut by MIS and legal entity
*Undertake SOX compliance reviews
*Monthly Balance Sheet Review & Inventory analysis
*Analytical Review of month on month trends and cross referencing with market and business knowledge
*Support New Business initiatives ensuring caps & caveats are adhered to
*Acquire a detailed understanding of all significant new deals and their associated risks
*Monitor progress of Business Control against pre-defined success criteria
*Identify opportunities to develop & streamline analytical activities and to improve controls
*Participate in strategic change initiatives initiated by the FO, such as the implementation of a single strategic risk management system
*Set Business Requirements and perform Systems/UAT testing
