Business Architect

Proteus Europe is searching for a Business Architect for our client based in Brussels, Belgium

Your New role:-

The customer produces, as part of its normal operations, a large number of documents (PDF), files (text, csv, Excel, ) and reports (text, PDF) that must be archived and retrievable on demand. In addition, it receives many documents (PDF, scans of documents) from external sources, that must also be archived and retrievable. As a general rule, these documents are closely linked to the business functions and can easily be indexed with well-defined metadata. The customer will develop a simple system, preferably based on Apache Lucene and Apache Solr.

This system will provide:

A user interface (Web-based), to allow users to search and retrieve documents, using a simple search based on known metadata;

An application-to-application interface, that will allow the customer business-facing applications (ABACUS, CFMS, others) to feed documents to the archive, search for documents, and retrieve documents from the archive.

The mission is to create and document the solution architecture, and to create and document the macro-design of the application.

The current applications at the customer site are based on SOA (service-oriented architecture) and EDA (event-driven architecture). Technologies in use are Java (JEE)-based and include JSF, JMS, REST. Standard tools used at the customer site are IBM Rational Team Concert for modelling and development, IBM Rational DOORS (Next Generation) for functional requirements management, Oracle WebLogic Server (12.1.3) as JEE server, and Oracle database for persistence.

Your Skills and experience:-

Java application architecture using JEE

UML modelling and design

Documentation and technical design

Expected deliverables:

Architectural description (Word)

Set of RTC (Eclipse) UML models (class, sequence, collaboration diagram, )

Component model (Word)

Languages: English mandatory; French is an additional asset, but not mandatory
