- The IS business analyst supports the customer's business area in analysing and documenting the user requirements.
- Together with IT architects and IS security experts, he/she ensures that the IT solution meets the user requirements and complies with the customer's IT principles.
- He/she establishes the functional specifications, data sources analysis and data modelling, co-ordinates user acceptance testing and supports the drafting of the business area's IT project- related documentation.
- Organises internal workshops and co-ordination of project stakeholders, taking into account the data and information required for this activity and the project schedule based on user requirements;
- Formulates service level requirements based on end-user input;
- Develops business cases and approaches/methodologies to the analysis work;
- He/she has working knowledge on BI systems, database, ETL (e.g. Informatica) and reporting (e.g. SAP BO) tools;
- Performing requirement engineering activities based on formal techniques and methods (analysing, capturing and managing requirements)
- Models business processes on the basis of tools such as Aris;
- Model data on the basis of tools such as Erwin or Power Amc Designer; with the underlying understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) architectural principles, including the translation of transformation rules between logical data layers such as Data Ware House and Data Marts
- Produces hand-over documentation according to customer's standards
- Basic knowledge on Data Life Cycle within a Business Intelligence (BI) system and main types (patterns) of Business Intelligence Solutions (Architectures)
- Support testers during test case definition and test cycles in the understanding and the clarification of the requirements.
- The Business Analyst will work mainly on the Risk Assessment and Reporting (RAR) project and potentially on other Risk Management related activities like the decommission of Risk Engine (current solution being replaced by RAR) or the implementation of the AssetBacked Securities (ABS) in RAR.
Ideal candidate
The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Education and qualifications:
- Master's degree in information technology, computer science, information system security, or related disciplines
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information system security, or related disciplines
- Engineering and design experience
Knowledge and skills:
- A significant experience as a business analyst analysing data sources, analysing business needs, translating these into specifications and finally in the definition of the solution and experience in single business sector, ideally in the financial, banking or insurance sector.
- Working experience of business case analysis approach and business analysis methodologies including experience in process modelling using professional tools (e.g. UML tool) and experience in data analysis, structuring and data modelling [modelling processes and data].
- Experience using requirement/test management tools (ideally HP-ALM) as a Business Analyst.
- Significant experience in data modelling using professional tools (e.g. Erwin) and relational database (ideally Oracle)
- Working knowledge of data formats/standards (at least csv and XML data format with XML modelling tool like XMLSpy or Oxygen) and Business Intelligence modelling solutions (Data Ware House, Dimensional Modelling, ETL basic knowledge).
- Experience of Analysts features for ETL tools (eg: workflow designer, metadata manager) would be an asset.
- Experience in the design of datamarts/reports for Business Objects would be an asset.
- Knowledge of IT Service Management processes and best practice (such as ITIL), in particular in the areas of service level management would be an asset.
- Experience in working in an Agile development environment, especially in iterative and incremental development and under time pressure would be an asset.
- Experience in contributing to the writing of complex tender documentation would be an asset.
- Experience in Risk Management and/or Market Operations would be an asset.
- Experience on enterprise wide process modelling standards like ARCHIMATE or BPMN (eg: modelling/enterprise architecture tool like Aris) would be an asset.
