Business Analyst - Government Experience ONLY

MUST HAVE PREVIOUS GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE

Business Analyst required by leading government arm within their digital services team in Worthing with over £2.5 million being spent on a recent googlesque renovation to the offices.

The successful Business Analyst will support the product owner in delivering a digital service by doing the following and must have Government experience previously:

Working with a range of stakeholders to define user stories. This will include the multidisciplinary team, including user researchers, developers and testers. It will also include wider stakeholders, such as staff who will be processing cases using the service and policy colleagues.

Facilitating sessions to gather and elaborate needs, such as workshops or story review sessions. Also leading or facilitating Agile activities as required, such as show and tells or retrospectives.

Balancing the needs of different users - including external users, staff using the system to make decisions, policy/lawyers, developers and others. The candidate will be able to analyse options for how to meet user needs, in the least complex way possible. This includes being willing and able to challenge proposed needs/requirements effectively, including validating what the core need is and what the risks/benefits of different needs or approaches are.

Presenting information clearly to a range of audiences, to facilitate decision making by the product owner, building stories by the team, or wider buy-in from other stakeholders. This includes being able to articulate needs to content designers to help draft content, and reviewing prototypes from user research against.

Having the ability to apply different skills and methodologies for different stories - including business situation research (potentially As Is and To Be maps) and designs to inform system development where required.

Working closely with the testers in the team. The candidate will ensure that all user stories have testable acceptance criteria, as well as drafting scenarios for BDD automated tests.
