Projektbeschreibung

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

To undertake Business Analysis and Business Requirements gathering for the Delta Munich project during its Elaboration phase working closely with multiple business units and 3rd party organisations, and also to support Business Change Planning.

The hub of the project is based in the UK, while analysis of documents in German, or translated from German, and presence in Germany will be desirable at times. While the default expectation was that the role would be primarily based in the UK, candidates currently based in Germany will also be considered provided that they meet the role requirements and can travel freely to the UK as needed.

KEY RESULTS AREAS

1. BUSINESS ANALYSIS (APPROX. 75% OF TIME)

- Develop and maintain documentation of business requirements, workflows, processes, applications, tractability matrices, and data dictionaries as relevant, ensuring that the documentation is kept up-to-date and in line with both business and corporate strategies.
- Organize and drive requirements gathering within the agreed project approach and working closely with the project team. The business analysis work will be shared across multiple roles to a detailed plan, and the capability to collaborate effectively with other team members and to be guided by senior business analysts is key
- Contribute to the overall Project and Solution approach and ensure that customer interests are fully represented.
- To be involved in or complete scoping and requirements gathering for assigned projects, including evaluation of business priorities and impact for the requirements put forward.
- Develop, document, and deliver reporting both periodically and on an ad hoc basis.
- Work with stakeholders across the business to deliver user stories, functional specifications conceptual function models, conceptual data models, to a high quality suitable to support the development process
- Ensure that the business remains fully engaged throughout the project life cycle.
- Attend regular business champion forums to ensure that the requirements product continues to deliver business

2. SUPPORT BUSINESS CHANGE AND PROJECT PLANNING (APPROX. 25% OF TIME)

- Support the Business Lead for the project in evaluating business impact and in developing appropriate change plans as agreed with the project manager and business lead
- Identify and evaluate business issues that may be a consequence of the project approach, proposed target business processes or the target solution
- Support the project manager in reviewing delivery project planning from the perspective of business impact and change.

3. PROJECT WORKING (GENERAL)

- The role will report day-to-day to the Delta Munich project manager and will be guided by a senior in-house business analysis and will need to participate effectively in team ways of working and reporting progress
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, coupled with an effective and positive manner when dealing with stakeholders is key to the role along with the ability to explain complex business issues to a range of audiences in a clear way
- On occasions the role will require the organisation and facilitation of workshop sessions
- The agreement of priorities and options evaluation will require a collaborative process with other team members and project stakeholders. The role requires the capability to facilitate these kinds of discussion when needed
- Meetings and interactions with team members and stakeholders will take place both on site and remotely using telephone/Lync/Webex technologies primarily
- High quality documentation and effective presentations are an expectation of the role
- Consulting skillsets will be useful in working with the different groups in and around the project and conversely, a narrowly technical perspective will not be sufficient
- On occasions, and subject to detailed planning, the role may require the tasking and temporary supervision of other team members.

SELECTION CRITERIA

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

ESSENTIAL

- Bachelor's Degree in relevant subject area or 3+ years relevant work experience
- ISEB qualified Business Analyst or equivalent
- Proven track record of gathering business requirements and translating them into user stories/functional specifications
- Proficient in documenting As-Is and To-Be processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication skills across all levels of an organisation
- Ability to facilitate workshops
- Strong IT research, software analysis and design skills.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal

DESIRABLE

- Knowledge and prior use of UML modelling language
- Broad technical understanding across various methodologies, platforms, tools and languages.
- Previous experience working in a waterfall or agile environment
- Previous experience in the Publishing sector will be useful
- Previous experience in projects concerned with migrating local business unit processes and system to a central global model will be useful.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- German language skills are desirable - the is the ability to read and understand text in the German language is primary, ideally accompanied by good verbal capability
