Business Analyst Fixed Income Market Data Fixed Term

MARKET DATA BUSINESS ANALYST - FIXED INCOME - FINANCIAL SERVICES

Reporting to the IT Business Analyst Lead within the Real Time and Corporate Systems team, the individual will be responsible for assisting in the successful delivery of the strategic initiatives through accurate and detailed analysis of requirements and the changes required accommodating them.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Execution of highly focussed business analysis, supplemented by systems and data analysis to enable informed decisions on various IT solutions to business changes and strategic initiatives.

Preparation and management of documentation including business requirements, system requirements, traceability Matrix, impact analysis, service guides ( white books') business processes and recommendations.

Acting as a bridge' between the Business and Technology throughout the change cycle, from initiation to delivery and post delivery.
- Liaison with Architecture and Development Technical Leads to ensure the business needs can be met by the proposed solution design and that IT delivery teams understand what needs to be delivered.

Supporting the Project Management function by playing an active role in setting the project scope with the project manager, assisting with Issue and Risk management and taking ownership of change requests.
- Assisting with planning, stakeholder management and ensuring the project goals and objectives are met.

Supporting the QA and UAT teams to ensure thorough understanding of requirements as well as providing advice or clarification on any issues raised during test cycles.

Liaison with Service Management teams to ensure their requirements are captured.

Understanding the necessity of team and project standards and governance and applying them consistently.

Accurate preparation of written business correspondence and documentation that is coherent, factually and grammatically correct, effective, professional and engaging.

Understanding of basic financial instruments and market data and proactively building expert level knowledge on the business and its systems landscape.

Has a working knowledge of SQL and database design and has technical understanding of systems and systems architecture.

Improves upon existing approaches by seeking opportunities to creatively transform current industry practices into fresh alternative solutions.

Assumes additional responsibility and ownership without being asked.

Proactively initiates, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with team members and stakeholders.

Anticipates business needs before they arise and presents solutions to project management that encompass issues at hand.

Understands expectations that were set with internal and external customers and recognises when issues/events may affect delivery.

Ensures that documentation required for regulatory purposes are kept up to date and governed as necessary.

KEY SKILLS:

- Professional experience, ideally in a financial services institution.
- Knowledge of Equities and/or Fixed Income instruments, related market data and products.
- Market data requirements gathering
- Strong analysis and requirements gathering skills, both business and systems focussed.
- Experience in the production of business analysis documents such as impact analysis, business requirements and system specifications.
- Ability to supplement requirements with visuals such as data flow, swim-lane, process flow and timeline diagrams.
- Strong and proven soft' skills including stakeholder relationship management, expectation management, influencing and communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience of SDLC, as well as Waterfall and Agile project delivery methods.
- Excellent Microsoft Office and document management (eg SharePoint) skills.
- Ability to script basic SQL to perform data analysis activities.
- Project Management (Prince 2) experience.
