Business Analyst - Extensive Life Assurance Experienced Required

My client is looking to hire a Senior Business Analyst with extensive life assurance experience

The position is within the Programme Office which is currently involved in projects such as the implementation of a replacement policy administration system for its unit linked products, the opening of new regional offices worldwide, replacement of internal systems such as those for the Finance and HR departments, development of new products etc.

The existing team is made up of very experienced and qualified Business Analysts all of whom have extensive Life Assurance experience and operate in a high performance quality environment.

The role requires candidates with extensive Business Analysis and Life Assurance experience who are capable of taking on a Business Analysis role in a Unit Linked Product Development Project, and hit the ground running from day one.

The project for which the candidate is required is a new product development encompassing elements such as stochastic modelling and straight through processing.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS & DELIVERABLES

- Bring a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role covering eg Product Specification and Terms and Conditions compilation, Business Requirement Documentation for System Developments, Product Pricing, Fees and Charges calculations.
- Have extensive experience in Test Planning and Scripting of all business processes on Unit Linked and Life Assurance products. Experience of automated test tools is also preferable.
- Experience in the finance industry, particularly Life Assurance, and the technologies used to support business lines are essential eg SQL, LIFE400 (AS400 type system), Cobol, SAP
- Have exposure to change management and project management in financial organisations.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, project delivery and management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
- Demonstrate excellent aural, presentation and written communication skills, and show practical understanding of impact of business change and organisational growth.
- Interact professionally with a diverse group of colleagues, users, executives, managers, external suppliers, and subject matter experts and interface regularly with them to establish a network of solid working relationships.
- Coordinate, assist with and deliver projects with the Programme Office team (to deadline and within budgets), and be familiar with Programme Office functions.
- Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis, at all times using language understood by all stakeholders.
- Critically research and evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
