Business Analyst - Cleveland, OH

Beacon Hill Technologies has a 6 month contract opportunity with a client located in Solon, OH.  Local candidates are strongly preferred because the client will request an in person interview.

Job Details:

The Business Analyst is a crucial role in creating and maintaining the strategic partnership between Business needs and Technology. We are seeking a Business Analyst to link our IT application capabilities with the company's business needs. The Analyst will work closely with an IT Project Manager and Business Partners in the definition, testing, training, implementation, and support of functional requirements. The Analyst will identify requirements via industry standard analysis techniques such as data flow modelling, workflow analysis, and functional decomposition analysis. The Analyst will be the functional expert on the specified application(s) and he/she will be a critical contact between the business unit and Information Technology's Application Development team.
Perform business and application analyses and problem solving.
Work closely with the business partner and business subject matter expert(s) to obtain a full understanding of their business and functional requirements and needs by planning and conducting business requirement sessions using interviews, workshops, and/or existing systems documentation or procedures.
In addition to understanding day-to-day business needs/requirements, provides input and recommendations that could improve the business and processes.
Document current business processes and participate in developing to be processes, document and distribute to the business and business management for validation, feedback, and approval.
Accurately convey functional requirements to the Application Development and Quality Assurance teams by working closely with Managers, Developers and QA Analysts conducting functional/business requirement review and technical design sessions.
Create user and system related documentation for new applications.
Ensure that all assigned tasks follow the IT Systems Engineering Process (SEP), are properly documented and project artifacts are entered into the SharePoint site for each project.
Solve problems and make decisions independently, but know when to involve the appropriate management levels on more complex issues
Provide weekly status reports on progress and issues.
Enters weekly time into the Clarity system for all tasks assigned.

Education/Training/Experience
IT business analyses experience of at least 8 years, and 4 year degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or similar field required. Equivalent Work experience of 10 years or more without a 4 year degree.
3 - 5 years of experience is required.
Experience understanding database tables, data files, records and fields. Need to understand and document data fields that must be masked (hide) actual data in order to pass confidential information.
Proficient understanding of all Microsoft Office tools (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Internet Explorer, and Visio) and an expert user in at least two of the Microsoft Office tools.
Healthcare experience is a plus.
BA certification is a plus.
Process Mapping software experience is a plus.
