JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

A Business Analyst is required to work with the business, technology and programme stakeholders to define the user and customer experience and translate high level product, service and capability requirements into prioritised and deliverable analysis models.  As well as managing the gathering of the requirements, the Business Analyst will be required to manage the backlogged requirements through the appropriate delivery methodology eg Waterfall or Agile.

The role will support the project through the delivery cycle and manage the business analysis elements of the project. Where appropriate, they will act as Product Owner and/or Project Manager where the role requires this support or the requirements need to be managed through delivery. This will include maintaining reporting and administrative tasks in support of the project/programme delivery.

The Business Analyst must be able to lead a team of other BAs and be able to interact in an operational environment, often leading the activities of internal and supplier delivery teams including Developers, Business Testers and Release Management.  They will be required to bring the appropriate methodologies, tools, standards and approaches to the task and flex this to meet delivery timescales and changes.

SKILLS:

- Builds high quality requirements sets and manages these to approval for delivery with the business and technology stakeholders.
- Identifies, defines, records and communicates user and functional/non-functional requirements for data storage and retention as well as workflow and business process changes.
- Performs investigational analysis and evaluation to determine project or application feasibility.
- Aligns cost/benefit estimates to establish requirements prioritisation relative to value and can develop business options and recommendations for changes, to scope with the Product Owner and Technology Architect as appropriate.
- Estimates resource and record management requirements and creates plans, timelines, milestones, user approvals, charts and reports for use in managing an assigned project.
- Develops time schedules with the Project Manager and acceptance test criteria with the Test Manager for requirements in scope related to manual procedures as well as automated features.
- Prepares and maintains documentation, including procedures, training materials and user requirements in order to enable operational readiness for the new system.
- Prepares feasibility studies, recommends and establishes inputs to program objectives, priorities and schedules in conjunction with user and functional requirements.
- Ability to manage scope, change and prioritise multiple requests independently to meet the organisational goals.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

A degree in business systems, computing or related field and professional memberships of the BCS, IIBA or other recognised institution would be desirable.

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:

At least 5 years of experience in Business Analysis, Relationship Management and Business Analysis Leadership positions. The candidate should be a motivated and a dedicated leader with a great sense of responsibility.  They should possess a work ethic of dependability, flexibility and adaptability to perform as an efficient, detail-oriented team player.

The candidate should have demonstrable experience of current Business Analysis techniques, analysis principles, methods, procedures, practices, tools and project management principles eg UML, Agile, Scrum methodology, BPMN. Proven ability to communicate effectively with displayed levels of knowledge, skills and responsibilities is essential. The candidate should also have in-depth knowledge of Amdocs CES 7.5 and capabilities to talk with Business Users.  

OTHER DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:

Achievement-oriented, excellent computer, communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
