Business Analyst

Yoh has a long term contract opportunity for a BUSINESS ANALYST to join our client in Center City, Philadelphia. This temporary/contract position could possibly become permanent.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Primary responsibility will be to advise and support business and process owners in initiating new ideas, defining and documenting the business processes and requirements. This includes interfacing with business users to understand their needs and translate these into clear, understandable requirements. The candidate needs to have core BA skills with a mix of methodologies, and able to bring best processes into practice. Typically the business will go to the BA, who is their funnel to work with the business unit and getting the QA and other teams involved early. It is a traditional BA role, with a lot of visibility to vendors, which is a key component of this position. They will coordinate/consolidate with internal people and vendors.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze business processes and identify efficiency improvements
- Initiate research and analysis on business requirements
- Translate research and analysis results into specific ideas and plans
- Create and maintain business cases which show costs, benefits and a time horizon
- Support the business and IT with the realization, monitoring and approval of the business cases
- Facilitate and lead business requirements elicitation workshops with business users and subject matter experts
- Utilize interviewing and observational skills to obtain and validate requirements
- Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level concepts into details and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
- Utilize negotiation skills to evaluate priorities and resolve conflicts
- Prepare well-organized business requirements documentation and business process flows that clearly expresses the business users intent, that are complete, necessary, traceable and verifiable
- Provide support during acceptance testing, resolve issues and questions related to application functionality

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Six (6) plus years of experience in Requirements Analyst/Business Analyst roles
- Excellent process driven analysis skills with a background in various requirements elicitation methods
- Strong vendor interaction/coordination (for software solutions which business units may be considering)
- Ability to facilitate meetings, including agenda and minute preparation
- Excellent interviewing, listening, facilitation and observational skills
- Experience in writing clear and concise Business Requirements Documentation
- Ability to integrate business needs with IT solutions
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Highly motivated self-starter
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and deal with conflicting priorities
- Ability to work independently as well as in a diverse multi-disciplined team environment
- Understanding of application development, database and system design
- Must have strong requirement analysis background.
