Business Administration Apprenticeship - Leicester (LE1)
Eingestellt von Itchy Feet
Gesuchte Skills: Sales, Support
Projektbeschreibung
What is a business administrator?
In any business, no matter what industry, or what products or services are being sold, administration tasks will need to be done. Jobs such as invoicing, filing, sorting out wages, dealing with customers and other office tasks are all important in the smooth running of a business. Smaller companies may only need one member of administration staff, while larger companies can have a whole team. If no-one does the administration tasks then no money is made, which results in no wages being paid, which results in no company. It's an important role.
What is the work like?
General administrators will support all aspects and departments of a company in performing routine administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, providing information to customers and maintaining electronic and other files. Responsibilities may vary depending on the employer but duties usually include:
• Greeting visitors and handling their enquiries
• Organising meetings and making travel arrangements for office personnel
• Opening, reading and distributing incoming mail
• Setting up and maintaining paper and electronic filing systems for records purposes
• Assisting managers in additional assigned duties
• Maintaining sales and performance records
How will I learn on a business administration apprenticeship?
This course usually takes three years to gain an NVQ Level 3. To do this you won't need to go to a further education (FE) college or training centre. Your time will be spent in a place of employment where you will get to learn practical skills from seeing the real working environment. You will shadow qualified members of staff so that you are able to learn first-hand how to go about the job. You will also get the opportunity to assist in the activities. Once you pass your assessments and progress through your course you will be able to start completing tasks on your own. To ensure you are competent in completing tasks on your own a Remit assessor will visit you periodically at the work place to complete assessment testing with you.
What skills are required for me to gain this apprenticeship?
As part of the administration team you will need to demonstrate:
• Good IT skills
• Strong organisational skills
• Good written and verbal communication
• An understanding of customer service
Salary:
During your apprenticeship, the employer you are working for will pay you a salary. This will be a minimum of £2.68 an hour. Some employers pay more than this and some offer other benefits and incentives.
